FAQs

Is the ferry to Gangasagar available every day?

Yes, the ferry runs daily, but it is highly dependent on the Muriganga River’s tides. Our team will coordinate the timings to ensure you reach the island and return comfortably within the day.

Can we perform ancestral rituals at Gangasagar?

Absolutely. Many pilgrims perform Pinda Dana or other ancestral rituals at the confluence. If you wish, please let us know in advance so we can help arrange a local priest.

What should I pack for the overnight train journey?

We recommend carrying a light shawl, basic toiletries, and a travel pillow. While the train provides bedding in AC coaches, having your own small kit makes the journey more comfortable.

Is there a lot of walking involved at Gangasagar?

Some are walking from the ferry point to the local vehicles, then toward the Kapil Muni Ashram. For senior citizens, local e-rickshaws, or “vanyas,” are available to make transit easier.

When is the best time for this Odisha-Gangasagar tour?

The best time is from October to March. The weather is cool, making the temple walks and the boat journey to Gangasagar very pleasant compared to the humid summer months.
